Is it Time to Throw Some Stuff Out?

Is you closet full of stuff that has no purpose or mean but it is in your closet anyway? Maybe it is so you feel better about having a lot of stuff? Do you go into your closet and still feel like there is not enough or you want more? Why? Do you think it is possible that less is more? You closet is a refection of you life.
Is your closet of life the same way? Stuffed so full so it seems you have a lot going on when you want to pull you hair out most of the time?
While I purge my closet often, I am starting to notice that there is stuff in it that really does not serve me anymore. It is not in alignment with my current life style and there is stuff that I am hoping "one day" will serve a purpose.
I am taking a look at my closet of life to. Is there stuff in my life that really doesn't serve a purpose anymore and if I choose to keep it, what purpose is it serving?
I think like many people, I have been feeling a little submerged with "stuff". There is a business to run AND there is charities that need support AND there are holiday parties to attend AND there is holiday parties to throw AND there is websites to get done AND there is bridesmaid dress shopping AND there is family to attend to AND there is travel to get ready for AND there is a board to sit on AND... AND... AND oh yea and the is a dating life, boyfriend or husband to attend to. How does one woman handle it all? No wonder getting out of bed doesn't seem like all that much fun. It is so much quieter in here.
The solution, start with one. Remove one item from your closet you don't need. Remove item from you life closet you don't need. It's ok for It Not to be so full and only have the things that serve a purpose and that you enjoy. Then you will spend a lot more time doing the things you enjoy and it's that what life is all about anyway!

I have been reading Dr. Pat Allen's "Getting to 'I Do'" becasue I do hope to find myself saying "I Do" again in my life time. I found this one piece to be so poinient to image that I had to share it with my friends.
"You must pay attention to your body. Try to eat well and work out as much as you can, no matter what age you are. Your body is a reflection of your soul and your sanity. It's a statement of how much in control of yourself you are. If a woman doesn't take care of her body, if she can live in a messy environment, she is not in touch with her feelings as a woman.

You must pay attention to your grooming. Like it or not, you are judged by the way you look. If you have heart of gold but look like a slob, you are putting yourself at a distinct disadvantage, so you must think about why you are trying to sabotage your chances at romance."

Chose the Right Garment, Get the Right Result

Have you ever wanted a different result in your life? Maybe you want the D$llars in your bank account to increase, or a pay raise or things to be different in a relationship. By choosing the right garment, it could get you the right result. Think about it. Do you feel better when you put some item of clothing on ,better then others? Is your attitude different? When your attitude is different do you have a different result? So if you want a different result doesn't it seem like a simple change in garment might produce a different result?
I have a client that wore undergarments that were 5 maybe 10 years old, ok, maybe not that old but old enough that the girls were hanging down way further then they should have been. Her garments nor attitude were all that sexy. And what this client really wanted was a date with her man where he took her out and wined and dined her. If she is not getting the result she wants then something has to change. Is it the garment? Is it the attitude? Is it both?
The same goes for a man. I had a male client that was eagerly looking for his right mate. He wanted a young hot thing yet his garments said old cold man. Do you think those to attracted each other? When we updated his look to that of what he wanted to attract, do you think he attracted it?

67% of how a person feels about themselves is based on their outward appearance.

To change your result-change your attitude. To change your attitude-change your clothes.

Get the results in your life you desire.

Friends are Like T-Shirts

Do you have t-shirts you bought for a moments like maybe a football game or some charity function? Then do you have the ones that maybe were around for a season or two? Do you have one of those old favorite t-shirts that has made it through many seasons with you and now are around for a lifetime? No matter how sick you've been, no matter how mean you have been to someone or unkind you have been to yourself that t-shirt is always still there.

How do you feel with that t-shirt? Do you always feel loved, honored, cherished? Like you could do no wrong by this t-shirt. No matter how many times you put it through the spin cycle it always comes out strong. It's the t-shirt that has been with you through many breakups, breakdowns and breakthroughs. Whether you are at your lowest or highest it is always there. It never judges you it always just loves you. It's there for the lifetime.

It is a blessing to have one that has been around and will be around for a life time. Cheers to all the lifetime t-shirts and friends in the world!

Find Something New

When was the last time you went shopping in a new store? When was the last time you ventured out from where you "normally" or "habitually" shop to experience something new? Sometimes half the fear is just what is on the other side of the door. Do you fear you won't find something you like? Do you fear it won't fit as well as things at "the other" place? Do fear it won't fit the same or it will be just to hard to find something? It is the same fear that stops us from seeing what is on the other side of the door in our life.

When we stay in old patterns it doesn't allow for something new. We were created to live glorious lives. I understand all to well the fear. Sometimes I get stuck in old habits and patterns of thinking in fear of the pain of leaving the old. I mean if I go to a new store will I find people there that like me and treat me as well? (The store could be a metaphor for anything in your life) Will I feel as comfortable in the new store? What if I get to the new store and it wasn't what I expected and I am disappointed?

I think we all have these fears, but a good friend said to me this week..."The pain of not going is just as bad if not worse" then just walking through the door, what ever that door might be.

Take a step toward the door and when you get there walk through. There are so many wonderful new and bright things for you to try on that will just fit perfectly!

Are you a Queen?

The Definition of Queen: a woman or thing regarded as excellent or outstanding of its kind

Do you regard yourself as excellent or outstanding of your kind? This does not mean you are better than or anyone is better than you but that you regard yourself as excellent.

If you believe yourself to be a queen then you treat yourself as such AND you expect others to treat you as such as well. How does a queen speak? How does a queen behave? How to people treat a queen? What does a queen wear?

I guarantee you the queen will not settle. A queen does not settle for less then what the queen deserves and can afford. A queen does not settle for be treated then less what a queen deserves. She is treated with kindness and respect. So demand of yourself to treat yourself like a queen and that those around you treat you like a queen. Then of course dress like a queen! Dress the best you can afford. If you don't feel great in it then do not buy it. YOU DESERVE THE BEST!

When it comes to your wardrobe where do you settle? Do you settle for the less then perfect shoes? Do you settle for the less then great blouse? Do you settle for the less then perfect fit jean? Do you settle for the less then supportive or sexy undergarments?

Chances are you settle somewhere. Why? Why settle for the less then perfect shoe? Do you hope your can "break it in" then it will be perfect? Why settle for the less then great blouse? Do you think Oh it will be" good enough" for this or that? Why settle for the less then perfect fit jean? Do you pray that one day they will fit perfectly if these few areas change? Why settle for the less then supportive or sexy undergarment? Do you say "oh, that doesn't matter anyway no one sees it?"

We all settle somewhere I think. Where is it for you and why? Do you really want to waste the time on anything that you have to break in to be perfect; that is only good enough for a certain occasion; that has to change to be perfect or that you have to hide that it's not sexy or supportive?

How you treat yourself is how others treat you. Find the perfect shoe, the great blouse, the perfect fit jean, and the sexy supportive undergarment. You will love every bit of greatness that comes along with it.

Do You Have to Make a Long term commitment

Do you have to make a long term commitment or is it ok to choose in the moment? With every pair of shoes you buy do you think, "Am I going to be committed to this pair of shoes for ever?" Once you buy the pair of shoes, do you have to be committed to wearing them every day or do you just wear them when it is right or it fits the outfit of the moment?

Do we do this in our lives though? Oh "I am going to make 5 calls everyday to prospect" or "I am not going to eat sweets anymore" or "I am not going to sleep with him until the 100th date" Do we put to many expectations on ourselves this way? Does this leave room for choosing in the moment?
I am going to make my 5 calls today or right now. I am not going to eat sweets with this meal or as this snack. I will sleep with him when the time is right.

What do we do to ourselves when we say it "has" to be this way. It doesn't leave any room for God to do its work. What if there is a higher purpose for the moment? It really comes down to trust. DO you trust yourself? DO you trust your God? What ever that may be for you.

If you know you buy the right shoes and you know you will wear them at the right time. Then trust yourself you will do it in other areas. You will make these decisions, eat what's right and sleep with him in the right time. It is all the right time. Be committed in the moment. It is really all we have anyway. It will always fit in the moment and you will look great!

Do You Ask for What You Want

Do you find yourself wandering around life sometime wanting certain things but don't ask. Are you afraid that if you ask you might get it and it would be easier? Have you ever been in a situation and asked for what you wanted and the response wasn't what you hoped for? Do you stop asking for what you want?

I recently asked somebody for what I wanted. I was sort of made fun of for asking. Kind of like having my hand slapped. I thought uhm, maybe I should just keep my mouth shut. In the end, even though I was made fun of, the person agreed to handle the something I had asked. It's ok to get what you asked for.

It is like when you are shopping at the mall. Are you the type of person who wanders around a store and asks for help so you can get what you want right away? Or do you wander around for hours trying to find the right thing and every person that asks to help you, you turn away?

We are all here to help each other. How you do something in life is how you do everything. If you don't allow people to support you in the store, chances are you don't let people support you in life. If you are the person that does ask for what you want in the store, Good for you! Chances are you ask for what you want in your life. And whether you get it or not is not the point. At least you are willing to ask . And that deserves a pat on the back. SO go ahead and give yourself one for me!

What Does it Mean to be Wrong

Have you ever tried on the wrong garment? How do you feel when that happens? Do you simply change the garment right away or do you beat yourself up? "If I was fat it would fit", "If this wasn't so big or that wasn't so big then it would fit right." Or do you put it on the garment? "If it was a little longer here", "if they just designed it with a little more room here", "If this one part wasn't right here, I mean what were they thinking?"

Has this ever happened to you?

So, what about life? What happens when you are wrong in life? Do you think "If only I were different or if only the other person was different?"

Is it possible that nothing or no one actually needs to be different? Is it possible that it just wasn't a good fit for the moment, in either case? Can something not fit for the moment and still be ok? Does it have to change to be the "perfect" fit?

If you make the commitment, then how long will you hold on to that 1 item that doesn't fit quite right thinking "it's going to be right someday." Do you still have those things hanging around?

Maybe it is time for a cleaning...In the closet. in life, or in perception.

Let's Get Personal and Listen

Today I thought I would share a personal empowering story.

I have been so proud of myself lately. Early this month I shared about a book I was reading Practicing the Sacred art of Listening . I am learning so much about listening and things are going so well. I am able to connect with people on a much deeper level. My biggest struggle was being patient. I've always wanted to get to the point and get to it yesterday. But in the last few weeks I have found myself being a lot more patient with people and wanting to hear more of what they have to say. I find myself talking a whole lot less. You see, my experience of myself in the past is that I would share all of what was going on with me, or what I was going to do next. I was talking about all my great big ideas with the hopes of getting approval from people. I wanted them to agree with me in what I thought of myself.
In a relationship of mine I have been a seeker of approval from a certain person and this person sometimes sort of made fun of me for what I talked about creating in my life. (My idea's are pretty BIG). So I stopped talking about my ideas. I actually started to listen to their dreams more. Now this person has come back around and has seen that they kind of jokingly made fun of my big dreams that I had and now they realized for themselves that their dreaming big has gotten them to where they are in their life.
What I realize is that all people come around. I just have to be willing to be patient to let them come around in their own time. By me trying to force them to see something, I am forcing them to see something that maybe God is not ready for them to see yet. And when the time is right they will see it. And if they never do, it wasn't meant for them to see anyway.
It takes patients, "I tell you." Because I want people to see things RIGHT NOW! I want them to see things MY WAY right now! By me just listening I am able to create deeper relationships and allow people to find their own way. When they find their own way they are able to own it. And that is true confidence! Empower someone today. Let them find their own light and be there for them when they are ready to shine it. It is the greatest give from God!

The Courage to Change

I think about my friend who will remain nameless , she has been going through a rough time figuring out what she wants to do with the rest of her life. She is at a turning point in her life, not sure which direction she wants to go. She has this amazing opportunity in a completely new field. A field that she absolutely loves, however it would mean giving up "a job" to start her own business. She would LOVE her new career, however she is scared of the "What if I don't make it, belief"? The resistance got so big that she got the sickest she has ever been.
The blessing...she is at the peak of change, and the woman she is becoming is more beautiful then any butterfly. "

5 Ways to Spring Forward Your Fashion

The sun is shining, the flowers are blooming, trees are growing, noses are running and a blanket of pollen sheets the cars. Ahhhh Spring has arrived! It is that time of year again when we get to break out all those fabulous Spring colors. Here are 5 tips to Spring Forward your fashion this Spring.

1. To create something new it's important have to get rid of the old. Start this Spring by getting rid of anything you haven't worn in 2 years or if it looks old and dingy. Any t-shirts with the fuzz balls should go immediately. Make room for fabulous!

2. This Spring is all about eye popping 70's glam. You know what that means . . . BRIGHT BOLD COLOR! Add some bright tropical blues, oranges, yellows, pinks and greens to your wardrobe. Brighter colors make for a brighter day.

3. Now that you have these fabulous colors in your closet, mix them up! Wear the colors together like the purple and the blue, blue with the green, pinks with the blues, pink with the green. These are just a few color mixing options - so mix it up. BE BOLD.

4. The hot pattern this year is stripes. Stripe dress, blouse, skirts, and pants oh my! Now be aware, stripes are not for all body types. If you are a percicaria (boy shape) or Violet (hour glass) this shape will flatter you best. I recommend doing your bigger or thicker stripes on the bottom and smaller thinner stripes on the top. And yes you Can mix your color of stripes. If you are Foxglove (pear) or Tulip (inverted triangle) then do a solid on the larger area and stripes on the smaller area.

5. My favorite Spring forward fashion is short shorts with a crop jacket. Showing off your legs will make them appear longer. So show them off ladies! A great look this spring is shorts with a stripe top and a solid jacket. If stripes are a little far stretched for you, then choose a printed t-shirt. It's always fun if your jacket has some sort of funky detail. Oh ya, AND ALWAYS DO A HEAL!

Happt New Year! Is it time for a new you? This time of year seems to be the time where people sit down and set new goals and intentions for the year. I know I have. In setting those goals and intentions, does your self image match up?

Some new intentions I set for myself this year are to keep up with my blog post by writing once a week, spending at least an hour a day reading, writing and meditating, and building wealth through supportive empowering relationships with out monthly club membership. As well as have a balanced life filled with love in my relationship.

So what does this have to do with image you ask? EVERYTHING!

If this is what I intend to create this year, then my image shall reflect that so I attract what I say I want.

So how can I use my image to create what I want? Building effective habits and using color are the two ways I am going to invite you to start off with.

Using my examples:

Intention one is to write weekly, therefore, the effective habit is first thing Monday morning on my way to the office, I stop at a local coffee shop for a cup of coffee (also supporting building relationship) and write my post before reaching the office. I support that habit by wearing white. White is a color of inspiration for me, so by wearing white I will be inspired to write.

Intention two is to read, write and meditate for one hour daily. The effective habit is to book that time into my day like an appointment. It is an appointment to love on me. The tool for using color in the wardrobe is green. Green for me is a color of connectedness and peace. So, I have a green necklace or wrap up in my green robe during those times.

Intention three, well that's easy. The effective habit is I am having weekly lunches with friends just to be with friends, not to discuss business. This one doesn't really have a color tool since I wear all colors all the time. The image tool I will be using is I will always have something on my person that costs more than $200 and I will always have a $1,000 outfit on. If you want to create wealth you have to be wealth. Even if it means buying one quality jacket, accessory and pair of shoes to wear everyday. If you feel it, you will create it. It works for me every day and it can for you too.

And intention four, have that loving relationship. The effective habits I will make is I make sure, no matter what, at the end of the day my man has a hot meal and I am looking my best serving it to him. A good friend once told me..."My husband gets the best of me, not what's left of me." She has several successfull businesses and has been happily married for 23 years. The color I use is blue. Blue is my color of love. So i will always have something blue on, as a centerpiece or on the plate.

It seems as though last month was Happy Month. How to be happy and to feel happy...How to be happy in business... Well, how happy are you with yourself and with your image?

I was reading this month, in both my Success and Glamour magazine, all about what we can choose today to be happy with ourselves. With that being said, here are my top 5 in each area.

Top 5 Ways to be Happy with Yourself:

Talk to a friend. Don't hold things in. Friends are there to love and inspire us when we are down. Let theme love on you. Trust me, it will be as big of a gift for them as it is for you.
Do something you love everyday, then write about it. It is proven that your brain will retain more if it is written down.
Meditate and visualize every morning. My alarm goes off every day at 5 a.m. However, I don't get out of bed until 5:30 a.m. In those 30 minutes, I meditate and visualize how I want my day to unfold. "Who am I meeting with today? What do I want to say to them? What will be their response? How am I feeling throughout that day?" I will pre-play, if you will, my entire day down to the time things are completed. This visualization kicks in my automatic success mechanism to create the day my mind has already imagined. Afterall, aren't things less stressful when you do them the 2nd time around!
Have a daily "I Am" mantra and repeat it aloud a minimum of once per day, every day. Mine is 7 minutes long. I say it aloud in the morning and have it recorded on my Blackberry so I can listen to it in the afternoon.

Top 5 Ways to be Happy with your Image:

Wear the best quality of clothing you can afford on your budget. It is better to get high quality past trends than poor quality new trends. Ross, Marshall's and outlet malls are great places to shop on a budget.
Wear color. Discover your power colors, then wear them. The right color can change your mood from drab to fab!
Dress for your shape, not to hide your shape. If you are wearing baggy sweaters or oversized shirts to cover something up...NEWSFLASH...YOU'RE NOT HIDING ANYTHING!!!!
Use a belt or a long necklace to accentuate your shape around the waist.
Your undergarments are just as important as your over garments. No one wants to see you tugging or pulling on them. They especially do not want to see sagging undergarments. It is the closets thing to your body and should fit the best. Skip the "Secret" and choose Macy's, Nordstroms or Soma for your intimate apparel.

Top 5 Ways to be Happy in your Business:

Time block activities, such as returning phone calls, e-mails and of course "Facebooking." Set time limits and stay committed to them. While these activities are all supportive to your business, they can sometimes consume more time than necessary.
Laugh at mistakes. There are no such things as failures, only practices with success. So, when you do something silly, laugh at yourself. There have been times that I have forgotten to return phone calls or e-mails before and it has cost me. I can't spend too much time beating myself up, or I wouldn't get anything accomplished. So laugh at yourself and think "I won't do that again!"
Take breaks and talk with a friend or go for a walk. It's ok to have fun at work, just set your time boundaries for it so that you still get the work done that must be done.
Start and end your day with tasks you love! It will always give you something to look forward to.
Get a coach. Every business person, no matter how much you make, should have a coach. Brian Tracy say's every entrepreneur should invest a minimum of 10% of their income to their own personal development for a rate of return of 30% in year 1, 3 and 5. Are you investing in yourself?
