Love Yourself Enough to Invest in Yourself

Today I want to talk about loving yourself. As women, we often don’t love ourselves enough; mostly because we don’t think we are worthy of it. We believe we have to take care of everything and everyone else before we take care of ourselves. Let me ask you this...”If you took care of yourself first, would you have more?” Would you have more to give? Would you be more available for your family? Astonishingly, 64% of women don’t feel that they are beautiful. Is this you? If so, let me ask you a few more questions. If you felt more beautiful when you looked into the mirror, would your confidence be different? If your confidence was different, would you have a different outlook? Would you be teaching your children something different? Would people be more attracted to you? And, if you’re one of the over 400 women a day starting a new business, would you be more successful if you had more confidence? If you answered “Yes” to any of these questions, then it’s time to love yourself a little – invest in a personal and private confidence boosting image update session. Invest in having more confidence in you. You are your #1 marketing tool. Studies show that the average business person invests about $1400 a year on marketing themselves - - and this is how much they spend just on clothes. You’ve heard the saying “people buy YOU, not your product” – well it’s absolutely true! If you are your #1 marketing tool, how much are you investing on marketing Y-O-U? Right now, more than ever, if you want that business over your competition then you have to look like you already have it!

Who wears short Shorts?

Shorts seen to be the latest trend - - they are all over the runways and fashion magazines. Maybe it has something to do with it being 100 degrees outside! (Especially if you live in Vegas like I do.) Yes, it's a cool 100 degrees on a good day. So the question becomes where and when are shorts appropriate?

Can shorts be worn to the office and to go out at night? The answer in short . . . it depends. Take a look around your office; is it a creative place? Are jeans allowed? If so, you could get away with shorts but you will definitely want to dress them up. Shorts worn in the workplace should be of nice fabric (no denim) and they shouldn't be worn any higher than 2 inches above the knee - more of a walking short style. You will also want to complete the office look with a tailored jacket and heels. Not the super high heels, though; a medium heel of about 2 inches will "work" nicely. And absolutely, positively no flip flops or tennis shoes!

For the evening, you can always go shorter and show off a little more leg. Choose light, fun colors. Light colors will tend to make the leg look longer. Try turquoise or yellow to step out onto the town. Pair them with a metallic top for a great fun and dressy look. Another suggestion is to pump it up a bit with a playful platform heel. That will really elongate the legs. But as always, the key is balance. If you are wearing a low cut top or that dressy metallic top, then you don't wear those show-stopping heels at the same time. So choose one area or the other area to show off. Then dance the night away!
