Green Is In, But Not Just For The Environment

While I was out last week, enjoying the wonderful addition of a gorgeous baby girl (my niece), I was taken by surprise by my team penned a guest post for me. I wasn't surprised because they did (I asked them too), but I was surprised by the topic.

They filled in by writing about making fashion green for the environment, which is very awesome. But what also surprised me is that I was planning to write about green too — the color. They had no idea! Maybe great minds do think alike.

I've been thinking about this year's summer colors for some time and noticed that the color green is in.

Watch for it. Bright greens will be in for everything from dresses to shoes to handbags. I noticed the trend two weeks ago while I was filling in my wardrobe. I picked up some great greens one week and, BAM!, Renee Zellweger appears in InStyle magazine with a bright green dress the next.

I've always loved green and it's long overdo to take its place as a fashion statement for summer. It's bright. it's happy. It's full of life. I always feel happy when I wear it and, for celebrities, it shows up well on any red carpet or runway.

Nicole Miller is seeing more green too. So is Louis Vuitton. Oscar de la Renta has even put green front and center on his Web site.

Trust me on this. if Louis and Oscar are seeing green, everyone else is sure to follow. "But wait," you say. "Louis and Oscar are a bit out my price range." No problem. Target is always there to help. You can find many top designer-inspired fashions at Target.

I paid them a visit the other day and caught some great new handbags in all shapes and shades. While I didn't shop shoes, I'm sure green is filling in the racks there as well. Macy's too. And even Sephora. They all have some great beauty essentials featuring green.

So Happy shopping for the summer. Keep your eyes open for green and a great look will follow! Until next week, here's also wishing you peace, love, and joy in your life!
