Your Personal Image Affects Your Job

If you're not sitting down, you might want to. These statistics are nothing to overlook.

Ninety five percent of employers say a woman's personal appearance shapes their opinion of her job suitability.

I find that amazing! Ninety five percent is pretty high. In my opinion, we'd see the same high numbers for entrepreneurs too. Potential clients want to see success and the first indication is image. Your ability to keep a client is based on image too.

Sixty one percent of employers also said dress and grooming had an effect on subsequent promotions. So not only do you need to dress well for the interview, you must keep it up too. Sure, you might already know this. I mentioned it a few weeks ago.

If you want the promotion, dress as if the job is already yours. It shows a sense of self worth and most new employers and clients are looking for it. Even more amazing, for women, 65-79 percent of employers said that appearance affects whether or not she is taken seriously. It affects whether or not she is asked to represent the company at an outside meeting. It even influences whether or not she will be given new challenges.

There is something else to consider too. Image is not the same as physical attractiveness or expensive clothes. The bottom line is that it's not what you're wearing as much as it's about the confidence you carry when you know you look your best.

It's something to think about. It's something to act on. It's something we can do together. Because I only one thing for you — peace, love, and joy in your life! :)
